Ibom Air inspects third Airbus A220 in Canada
Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno led a delegation to the Airbus production facility in Mirabel, Canada, to conduct a pre-delivery inspection of Ibom Air’s third Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
The inspection marks a milestone in the airline’s fleet modernization strategy. The new aircraft is expected to join the fleet and commence commercial operations ahead of the 2026 Christmas and end-of-year travel season. The addition is intended to increase passenger capacity, improve scheduling flexibility, and enhance connectivity for regional routes.
Governor Eno stated that the investment aligns with the state’s ARISE Agenda, aiming to position Akwa Ibom as a leading aviation hub to drive tourism, trade, and investment. Ibom Air, which is wholly owned by the Akwa Ibom State Government, has been expanding its network, including international scheduled flights from Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo.
