Ibom Air takes delivery of third Airbus A220-300

Ibom Air has taken delivery of its third Airbus A220-300 aircraft, marking a significant step in the airline’s fleet modernization and expansion program. The aircraft, registered 5N-CDC, was formally handed over at the Airbus A220 final assembly facility in Mirabel, Canada.

The addition brings the airline’s total fleet to 10 aircraft, consisting of seven Bombardier CRJ-900s and three Airbus A220-300s. This expansion supports the carrier's goal of increasing its network from eight to 12 destinations, including new regional routes to Douala, Cameroon; Libreville, Gabon; and Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.

Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno noted that the airline has safely transported nearly 5 million passengers across more than 65,000 scheduled flights. The airline's operations are reported to have contributed over N60 billion to the local economy and support approximately 753 full-time employees.
