Ibu Kota Nusantara development progresses with infrastructure and legislative area updates

Basuki Hadimuljono, Head of the Nusantara Capital City Authority (OIKN), has reported significant progress in the development of Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) in East Kalimantan. Current priorities focus on establishing basic government infrastructure, including roads, water, electricity, and office facilities. The government has prepared 20 office towers designed to accommodate approximately 15,000 civil servants, though currently, about 1,800 personnel from various ministries and agencies are stationed in the area.

In a recent visit to the site, the Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI), Sultan B. Najamudin, and several senators inspected the progress of the Legislative Area. The visit aimed to observe the current development status firsthand. OIKN officials noted that the continued support from high-level state institutions is vital for the political sustainability and ongoing construction of the new capital city.
