Ica vehicle accident results in rollover and fire

A white Ford pickup truck overturned and caught fire following a collision with a parked Nissan Sentra near the Mega Plaza shopping center in Ica, Peru. The accident occurred on the Panamericana highway around 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14.

Witnesses and bystanders assisted the driver, who was initially trapped inside the burning vehicle, by breaking the windshield to pull him to safety. Preliminary reports suggest the driver may have been intoxicated, a theory supported by the discovery of beer cans inside the truck. Authorities are investigating these claims.

The owners of the parked Nissan Sentra were shopping at the time of the impact. Witnesses reported that after exiting the vehicle, the driver allegedly fled the scene in a mototaxi. Police and firefighters responded to the emergency to secure the area and manage the fire.
