ICAC investigates lobbyist meeting at Double Bay pub
During an Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) hearing, lobbyist Jeremy Greenwood was questioned regarding a meeting at the Royal Oak Hotel in Double Bay. The meeting occurred on June 24 last year, shortly after Greenwood had completed a secret preliminary examination where officials explicitly instructed him not to discuss the proceedings with anyone except his legal team.
CCTV footage from the hotel shows Greenwood meeting with Jean-Claude Perrottet, another figure involved in the ICAC’s ‘Operation Rosny’ inquiry. The footage depicts the pair placing their mobile phones two metres away from their table, an action interpreted as an attempt to prevent law enforcement from eavesdropping. Greenwood defended the behavior during the hearing, claiming it is not uncommon to distance phones during meetings.
