ICE vehicle strikes and injures man during Houston operation
The Harris County District Attorney’s Office has launched an independent investigation into an incident in Houston where an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) vehicle struck and injured Miguel Parra-Hernandez during an enforcement operation.
The collision occurred near Highway 6 North and Clay Road. According to reports, the incident took place during an attempted apprehension of a migrant. ICE officials stated that Parra-Hernandez ran in front of the vehicle, while community advocacy group FIEL Houston reported that the man suffered severe injuries, including a broken leg that required urgent surgery.
Parra-Hernandez remains in ICE custody while receiving medical treatment at a local hospital. His attorney, Kim Bruno, has raised concerns regarding legal access, alleging that she was denied a confidential conversation with her client and that agents attempted to record their interactions. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office and local prosecutors are reviewing surveillance footage to investigate the circumstances of the impact.
