ICEE announces inaugural National ICEE Day with free drink promotions

The inaugural National ICEE Day will be celebrated on August 18, 2026, featuring free small ICEE drinks at more than 1,800 participating locations. The event marks the establishment of an annual tradition by J&J Snack Foods, the parent company of ICEE.

Participating retailers include Krystal, AMC Theatres, Regal Cinemas, Urban Air Trampoline and Adventure Park, and Walmart Fuel. At Krystal locations, guests can receive a free small ICEE with no purchase necessary while supplies last. Some venues, such as Universal Studios and Six Flags, are noted as not participating in this initial event.

In addition to the free beverage giveaway, fans can enter contests via social media for prizes such as an at-home ICEE machine. The brand's history dates back sixty years to an accidental invention by Omar Knedlick.
