ICETEX extends educational credit deadlines following national emergency
The Colombian Institute of Educational Credit and Technical Studies Abroad (ICETEX) has announced an extension of deadlines for various educational credit processes following a national emergency. The measure aims to support students and families who have faced administrative, economic, or mobility difficulties due to the emergency circumstances.
Specifically, the application period for the national educational credit call for the second semester of 2026 has been extended until September 15. This extension also applies to the renewal stage for existing beneficiaries. The credit lines include options for undergraduate programs within the country, as well as postgraduate studies both domestically and abroad. Additionally, financing lines for technical and technological education are available until September 25.
ICETEX President Richard Caicedo stated that the priority is to ensure that individuals do not lose access to financial support for higher education due to the current situation. Beneficiaries are advised to consult official ICETEX channels to verify specific conditions and updated dates applicable to their particular type of credit or obligation.
