ICETEX educational credit deadline extensions

Overview

Following a national emergency in Colombia, the Colombian Institute of Educational Credit and Technical Studies Abroad (ICETEX) has extended deadlines for various educational credit processes.

The extension applies to the application period for the second semester of 2026, which is now open until September 15, as well as the renewal stage for current beneficiaries. Financing lines for technical and technological education have been extended until September 25. These credit lines cover undergraduate programs within Colombia and postgraduate studies both domestically and abroad.

ICETEX President Richard Caicedo stated that the priority is to ensure that individuals do not lose access to financial support for higher education due to the current situation.
