ICEYE expands global presence with new units in India and Netherlands

Finnish space intelligence company ICEYE has announced the establishment of new local entities in India and the Netherlands to expand its global footprint in the defense and space sectors.

In India, the company has launched ICEYE India, based in New Delhi. This move aims to support the nation's sovereign intelligence capabilities and serves as a platform for ICEYE's plans to establish local manufacturing and engineering hubs. The initiative aligns with India's 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' self-reliance goals, focusing on local sourcing and talent to serve defense, surveillance, and environmental monitoring needs.

Simultaneously, ICEYE has established ICEYE Netherlands, headquartered in Amsterdam, with Joost Elstak appointed as CEO. The Dutch unit will function as a technology hub within the Netherlands Defence Technological Industrial Base (NLDTIB). It aims to deepen cooperation with the Royal Netherlands Air and Space Force, providing synthetic aperture radar (SAR) intelligence and supporting local engineering and space-readiness training.

ICEYE operates the world's largest constellation of SAR satellites, which provide high-resolution imagery regardless of weather or light conditions. The company's expansion into these markets is intended to transition its role from a systems provider to a deeply integrated national technology partner for both countries.
