Identity security and AI-driven threats reshape cybersecurity strategies

The cybersecurity landscape is evolving to address identity security gaps and the rising risks associated with artificial intelligence. Quest has introduced an AI-powered Security Management Platform, which now integrates Anetac technology to provide continuous mapping of human and non-human identities. The platform includes five new capabilities: Guardian Managed Recovery Services, Secure Migration, Identity Insights, Agentic AI Defense—which autonomously isolates compromised identities—and a private preview of Secure Replay to distinguish malicious changes from legitimate activity.

In a parallel shift toward embedding security into enterprise AI, AmiViz CEO Ramkumar Balakrishnan advocates for a ‘Cyber First’ approach. This strategy treats security as a foundational element rather than an additional layer, applying zero-trust principles to sovereign cloud and agentic AI deployments. Balakrishnan highlighted GenAI abuse as a primary concern, noting that it democratizes sophisticated cyberattacks, such as highly targeted phishing campaigns, by removing traditional skill barriers.
