IDTechEx releases EV battery fire protection market report
IDTechEx has released a new research report titled ‘Fire Protection Materials for EV Batteries 2027-2037’. The report analyzes regulatory trends, material analysis, and market forecasts for the next decade.
While electric vehicles have lower fire rates than internal combustion engine vehicles, fire protection remains critical. The study examines how battery design trends and regulations impact various materials, including ceramics, mica, aerogels, coatings, sealants, foams, compression pads, phase change materials, and polymers.
The report provides market forecasts from 2025 to 2037, detailing annual demand and market value across different vehicle segments such as passenger cars, buses, trucks, vans, scooters, and motorcycles. It also covers technical aspects like cell-to-pack design, liquid cooling, and insulation for high-voltage cables.
