Igli Tare defends income source amid SPAK villa investigation

Agron Tare has provided details regarding the long-standing relationship between his brother, former footballer Igli Tare, and former Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku, noting they met during their high school years at ‘Qemal Stafa’.

Addressing recent investigations by the Special Anti-Corruption and Organized Crime Structure (SPAK) concerning the seizure of two villas registered under Igli Tare, Agron Tare asserted that his brother's income is fully justified by his long-standing professional football career in Europe, citing annual earnings of approximately 1 million euros. While expressing confidence in the judicial process, he suggested the investigations might be influenced by political conflicts.

Journalist Artan Hoxha commented on SPAK's operational focus, noting that the institution has seen its greatest success in handling organized crime cases derived from international data, such as SKY ECC and EncroChat. Hoxha observed that while SPAK has been effective in targeting criminal groups operating within the European Union, there remains high public expectation for the agency to strike harder at high-level corruption and domestic organized crime groups.
