Igor Franco launches pre-campaign for Brazil's Federal Chamber with Gayer's backing

Goiânia councilor Igor Franco (Podemos) announced his pre‑candidacy for a seat in Brazil's Federal Chamber in the 2026 elections, receiving support from federal deputy and Senate hopeful Gustavo Gayer (PL). Franco highlighted his record of directing more than R$22 million in imputed amendments to health (R$8.5 million) and sport (R$13.5 million) projects, including the "Passaporte para a Vitória" program that has reached over 16,000 children and adolescents in Goiás.

He said the campaign will build on these achievements and focus on security, family values, agribusiness, disability inclusion and further investment in the state. The plan is to expand his political presence from Goiânia to the entire state of Goiás, aiming to bring the experience of municipal work to the national level.
