Igor Gomes addresses uncertain future at Atlético-MG

Atlético-MG midfielder Igor Gomes has addressed the uncertainty regarding his future with the club. While his current contract is valid until December 2026, reports from behind the scenes suggest he may not remain with the team for the next season.

Gomes expressed a calm approach to the situation, stating, “I am not even thinking about my contract right now, partly out of respect for Galo [Atlético-MG]. I think there will be the ideal time for these things to be resolved.” He emphasized his current happiness at the club and his commitment to performing his best while remaining part of the squad.

Despite the speculation, Gomes remains part of coach Eduardo Domínguez’s plans. He has seen significant playing time recently, including a full 90-minute performance in a recent match against Santos. Although he is eligible to sign a pre-contract with another team, no new agreement has been finalized.
