Igor Gomes contract uncertainty at Atlético-MG

Overview

Grêmio has expressed renewed interest in Atlético-MG midfielder Igor Gomes, noting that the 27-year-old may become a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the season. Although Grêmio has not yet submitted an official proposal, management views him as a valuable potential addition to the squad.

Gomes has since addressed the speculation regarding his future. While his contract remains valid until December 2026, he stated, “I am not even thinking about my contract right now, partly out of respect for Galo [Atlético-MG].” He emphasized his current commitment to the team and noted that he remains part of coach Eduardo Domínguez’s plans, despite the uncertainty surrounding his status for the next season.
