The State Labor and Social Welfare Secretariat (STyPS) and the Guerrero Employment Service (SNE Guerrero) organized the second Iguala Employment Fair on July 8, 2026. Held at the Plaza Monumento a la Bandera, the event attracted 23 companies and 12 institutions, presenting more than 350 formal job openings for professionals, technicians and operators. Participating employers included Coca‑Cola FEMSA, Grupo Bimbo, OXXO, Autotransportes Estrella Roja and others, while public agencies such as the SAT, IMSS and the National Guard provided information on social programs.

STyPS head Omar Estrada Bustos emphasized the fair’s role in linking job seekers with employers and improving family livelihoods in Guerrero’s northern region. Local officials, including municipal welfare secretary Miriam Yuritxi Figueroa Hernández, highlighted the opportunity for residents to access diverse formal employment in a single venue.

The fair also featured representatives from the state congress, the regional tourism office and the local chamber of commerce, underscoring coordinated efforts to foster economic development in the state.
