Iguazú Falls experiences near-record water flow
Iguazú Falls, located on the border between Brazil and Argentina, is experiencing near-record water volumes due to heavy rainfall in Brazil. Scientists attribute the relentless rains to a Super El Niño event, which has triggered extreme weather globally.
During recent observations, officials recorded water flow rates of nearly 12 million liters per second, which is approximately 10 times the normal flow. The rising, muddy waters of the Iguazú River reached the metal catwalks, prompting park officials to close walkways to visitors for safety.
