IHG Hotels & Resorts secures Rugby World Cup 2027 partnership and NSW hotel expansions

IHG Hotels & Resorts has been named the Official Hotel Partner for the 2027 Men’s Rugby World Cup in Australia. The tournament, scheduled to run from October 1 to November 13, 2027, will feature 24 teams competing across seven host cities. IHG will utilize its global network and IHG One Rewards program to provide accommodation for teams, officials, and fans, while also hosting tournament watch parties.

Separately, IHG is expanding its presence in New South Wales through a partnership with Urban Property Group. The collaboration includes the signing of two new hotel projects: the 171-room Crowne Plaza Newcastle, expected to open in late 2029, and the 152-room Hotel Indigo Gosford, slated for mid-2030. These developments are part of a broader regional growth strategy in Australia.
