IHH reports humanitarian crisis in Gaza due to aid restrictions

The humanitarian organization IHH reports a severe crisis in Gaza involving food, clean water, and healthcare services due to Israeli blockades and restrictions. Emre Kaya, IHH's Vice President for International Programs, stated that humanitarian aid is being used as a weapon against the population.

Since the escalation on October 7, 2023, IHH has expanded its operations in coordination with local organizations and United Nations agencies. The organization has utilized 13 kitchens to provide hot meals to approximately 180,000 people daily and has distributed up to 80,000 loaves of bread per day during certain periods.

Kaya noted that increasing obstacles are threatening the continuity of aid and the safety of humanitarian workers. He reported that several volunteers have died in attacks and that the foundation's kitchens, offices, and warehouses have been hit. Beyond food and fuel, the organization is also working on educational projects and support for places of worship to help maintain daily life amidst the conflict.
