IIT Madras announces revised GATE 2027 registration schedule

IIT Madras has announced a revised registration schedule for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2027. The application portal is now set to open on August 27, 2026.

Candidates can submit their applications without a late fee until September 27, 2026. An extended registration period, which includes a late fee, will remain available until October 5, 2026. Eligibility includes students in their third year or higher of an undergraduate program or those who have completed approved degrees in fields such as Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, or Humanities.

The GATE 2027 examinations are scheduled to take place over three weekends in February 2027: February 6–7, February 13–14, and February 20–21. The notification for city allotment is expected to be released on January 4, 2027.
