LG launches UltraGear 25G590B with native 1,000Hz refresh rate

LG Electronics has announced the release of the UltraGear 25G590B, a 24.5-inch gaming monitor designed for professional eSports. The device is the first of its kind to support a native 1,000Hz refresh rate at Full HD (1920x1080) resolution using an IPS panel. This distinguishes it from previous high-refresh models that required lowering resolution to 720p to achieve similar speeds.

The monitor features an overclocked mode of up to 1,100Hz and includes technologies such as Motion Blur Reduction Pro, G-SYNC Compatible, and FreeSync Premium. It also incorporates AI-driven features for optimized image and sound quality. The product is priced at approximately $999.99 in the US and 1.49 million KRW in South Korea, with preorders having opened in late August 2026.

While the high refresh rate targets competitive FPS players, the hardware requirements are significant, necessitating modern GPUs like the GeForce RTX 50-series or recent Radeon hardware and Windows 11 to maintain the necessary frame rates.
