Sziget Festival celebrates János Bródy with dedicated song day
The Sziget Festival hosted the ‘Bródy Dalok Napja’ (Bródy Song Day), a special event dedicated to the work of legendary Hungarian songwriter János Bródy. The program featured numerous performers paying tribute to his extensive musical legacy, including appearances by artists such as Zsuzsa Koncz, Hobo, and Gábor Presser.
While many expected a full lineup including Levente Szörényi, he was unable to attend in person due to health or other circumstances and instead shared a video message with the audience. A notable highlight of the festival was a performance by the popular young artist Azahriah, who surprised the crowd by performing a duet with his mother, singing the classic Bródy song ‘Ha én rózsa volnék’.
The event served as a generational bridge, drawing a large crowd that included many attendees over the age of 50, while also engaging younger fans through contemporary performers.
