Preservation and exhibition of Hungarian Ikarus buses

Overview

Efforts to document and celebrate the legacy of Hungarian Ikarus buses have progressed from individual photographic preservation to public exhibition.

In July 2025, a photography session in Győr captured over 350 images of various models, including the Ikarus 200-series, BN prototypes, and Credo bus prototypes, to preserve the history of these vehicles in Hungary's public transport fleet. Following these documentation efforts, the Hungarian Museum of Science, Technology and Transport (MMKM) scheduled the fifth Ikarus Mini Feszt for late August 2026 in Budapest. This festival aims to showcase the 200 series and rarer specialized models, such as the Ikarus 630 convertible, while providing opportunities for the public to learn about vehicle restoration and preservation.
