IKEA to open 17,000 sqm store in Cluj-Napoca
IKEA has officially announced plans to open a new store in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, as part of the RIVUS mixed-use urban reconversion project. Scheduled to open during the 2029 fiscal year, the store will span approximately 17,000 square meters.
This location will feature a different format compared to traditional IKEA stores. Instead of operating as a standalone unit with its own dedicated parking and entrance, the Cluj-Napoca branch will be integrated into a larger complex featuring commercial, cultural, entertainment, and office spaces. This approach aims to place the retailer closer to urban daily life.
In addition to the standard product range, the store will offer services such as home planning, order pickup, and home delivery. It will also include a Swedish Restaurant and a Swedish Food Market.
