Ilha do Mel begins resident registration for new access control system
The Institute of Water and Land (IAT), through the Ilha do Mel Administrative Unit (Unadim), has launched a registration process for residents to implement a new Access Control System on Ilha do Mel in Paranaguá, Paraná. This initiative aims to organize the flow of people entering and leaving the island to improve territorial management and local governance.
The first stage focuses on registering approximately 1,600 residents. In-person registration is available at Unadim offices in the Encantadas and Nova Brasília communities during business hours. To complete the process, residents must provide their CPF, a valid email address, and a facial photograph.
A second phase, with no set date, will extend the system to tourists. This future phase is expected to include digital pre-registration via an online platform and self-service kiosks. The system is designed to monitor the number of simultaneous visitors and enforce state legislation limits, which may allow a technical maximum of up to 11,000 visitors per day.
