Ilia Topuria's return timeline disputed by UFC and training team

Conflicting reports have emerged regarding the return of UFC fighter Ilia Topuria following his loss to Justin Gaethje. UFC President Dana White stated that Topuria is ready to compete again and that the organization is in constant contact with his team. White suggested potential matchups, including a rematch with Gaethje or a fight against Paddy Pimblett.

However, Topuria’s physical trainer, Jesús Gallo, has urged caution, stating that a return is not currently a priority. Gallo noted that the fighter has not yet begun a formal MMA training camp and expressed uncertainty regarding White’s claims. Topuria is recovering from significant injuries sustained during his previous bout, including orbital fractures and a nasal injury.
