Ilias Papatheodorou addresses Greek basketball scandal

Ilias Papatheodorou, coach of Amarousi, has commented on the ongoing scandal currently affecting Greek basketball. Speaking during a press conference following his team's loss to Peristeri, Papatheodorou expressed deep distress regarding the situation, particularly seeing individuals who have long served the sport involved in such controversies.

While he declined to comment on specific recent developments, he stated that the situation was “necessary to happen to shame Greek basketball” and emphasized the need for judicial processes to reach a conclusion. He noted that the sport requires a sense of catharsis so that focus can return to the game and the players' abilities on the court. Papatheodorou concluded by stating his primary focus remains on his team's performance and future victories.
