Žilina region sees surge in vehicle arsons

A series of vehicle arsons has been reported in and around Žilina, Slovakia. On October 7, a car was intentionally set on fire in Žilinská Lehota, resulting in estimated damages of approximately 15,000 euros.

Since March, at least 16 vehicles have been affected by fires in the region. While some incidents have been confirmed as intentional by firefighters, the exact motives and whether they are linked to a single perpetrator or multiple individuals remain unknown. Previous notable incidents include the burning of a Škoda Enyaq in Kysucké Nové Mesto in September, causing roughly 65,000 euros in damage, and an Audi fire in Žilina in August with damages estimated at 30,000 euros.
