Illinois expands health services with mobile clinics and new medical cannabis rules
Chicago-based Friend Health has launched mobile units that provide oral health and primary care directly to residents on the city’s south and southwest sides.
The Illinois Department of Public Health announced updates to the Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Act after Governor J.B. Pritzker signed Senate Bill 3222 on June 12, 2026. The law lets adult‑use dispensaries opt in for a medical cannabis license at a reduced tax rate, permits health‑care providers to issue certifications without an in‑person exam, and allows limited data sharing for approved research while protecting patient privacy.
