Illustration and comic festivals scheduled in Catalonia

Several graphic arts and illustration festivals are scheduled to take place in Catalonia this October.

In Lleida, the 4th edition of the Patac Festival de Gràfica Efervescent will run from October 22 to 25. The event features 54 exhibitors, exhibitions, workshops, and guest authors. Highlights include the ‘Còmic radical’ exhibition by Antonio Hitos at the Morera Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and the ‘Bonavista. Retrospectiva’ show at the EAM Leandre Cristòfol. The festival aims to promote independent editorial projects and graphic culture through various activities, including live screen printing and reading clubs.

Meanwhile, the 5th Tarragona Illustration Fest (TIF) will be held from October 15 to 18 at the Castell de Vila-seca. Organized by the Associació d’Il·lustradores de Tarragona (AIT), the festival focuses on the concept of ‘the nude’ as a narrative thread to explore the creation of illustrated albums, fanzines, and comics. The program includes conferences, workshops, and an illustration market designed to foster networking and professional development among illustrators.
