ILT20 Season 5 auction sees record bids and major player signings

The DP World ILT20 Season 5 player auction featured several high-value signings and record-breaking bids. Fazalhaq Farooqi led the auction with a USD 380,000 deal with MI Emirates, followed by Liam Livingstone at USD 350,000 with Gulf Giants. Other major acquisitions included Rahmanullah Gurbaz for USD 310,000 and Faf du Plessis for USD 300,000.

In the Pakistan player category, the Desert Vipers were the primary bidders, securing Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, Fakhar Zaman, and Shadab Khan, all at a base price of USD 80,000. Usman Tariq was also signed by the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders for USD 80,000.

Local talent also saw significant investment, with UAE player Muhammad Waseem becoming the highest-priced UAE player in league history at USD 210,000 for MI Emirates. The auction also saw participation from players representing the USA, Scotland, and Namibia.
