IMO calls for freedom of navigation in Strait of Hormuz

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) has called for the restoration of freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. IMO Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez stated that since the onset of conflict, up to 400 vessels and approximately 6,000 crew members have faced difficulties safely departing from the Persian Gulf.

While some ships and crews have managed to leave the area, thousands of seafarers continue to live and work under conditions of high risk and uncertainty.
