IMOVEQROO launches UT Route for students in Chetumal

The Quintana Roo State Mobility Institute (IMOVEQROO) has launched the ‘Ruta UT’, a provisional direct public transport service with social tariffs specifically for the Chetumal Technological University (UT Chetumal) community. Operations are scheduled to begin on Monday, September 21.

The service is designed as a direct route without intermediate stops. Morning departures from Parque Caimanes to the university are set for 06:40 and 07:30. Afternoon returns from the university to Parque Caimanes occur between 14:00 and 15:30. For students in evening shifts, two return routes will be available at 22:00, distributed across Sector 1 and Sector 2 of the city via main avenues.

To access the social tariff, students must register for the MOBI (Sistema de Movilidad del Bienestar Quintanarroense) card. A temporary credentialing module will be located on the UT Chetumal campus starting September 21, operating Monday through Friday from 09:00 to 16:00 for two weeks. Required documentation includes a valid voter ID (INE), proof of address, and a current enrollment certificate.
