IMOVEQROO public transport expansion in Chetumal

Overview

The Quintana Roo State Mobility Institute (IMOVEQROO) has implemented new public transportation routes in Chetumal to improve local connectivity.

In late September, the institute launched ‘Ruta UT’, a provisional direct service featuring social tariffs specifically for the Chetumal Technological University community. This service requires students to use the MOBI card and provides scheduled morning and afternoon departures to facilitate university commutes.

By early October, IMOVEQROO expanded its coverage with the launch of the Payo Obispo route. Operating from 06:00 to 22:00, this service aims to benefit over 26,000 people by connecting various sectors of the capital to key locations, including the Chetumal International Airport, Universidad Aztlán, and several government offices. This expansion is part of the New Agreement for the Welfare and Development of Quintana Roo.
