Impulsa Economic Forum to promote Spain-Portugal cooperation
The second edition of the Impulsa Economic Forum of the Iberian Southwest is scheduled to take place on December 2 in Badajoz. Organized by Prensa Ibérica, the initiative aims to strengthen alliances between Spain and Portugal to promote joint territorial development and establish the Iberian Southwest as a strategic European economic space.
María Ortiz, General Director of Prensa Ibérica in Extremadura, stated that the project intends to evolve from an annual meeting into a permanent working platform to maintain year-round dialogue and cooperation. The forum's agenda is structured around six key areas: Spain-Portugal cooperation, infrastructure and connectivity (including the Atlantic Corridor, logistics, and digitalization), energy, demographic challenges, development drivers such as agri-food, mining, and critical raw materials, and tourism, culture, and heritage.
To ensure continuity, the project will utilize specialized working groups focused on connectivity, industrial development, Spain-Portugal relations, and strategic energy resources.
