Imran Khan legal team challenges alleged solitary confinement

Legal proceedings continue regarding the treatment of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, at Adiala Jail. In a compliance report submitted to the Islamabad High Court, jail authorities confirmed that Khan was provided with eight books as directed. Khan selected four titles for reading and returned the other four, stating he already possessed copies of them.

Simultaneously, legal counsel for Khan and Bushra Bibi submitted 19-page written arguments to the Islamabad High Court challenging their alleged solitary confinement. The defense has requested the appointment of an independent commission to assess the prisoners' circumstances and inspect jail facilities. The counsel also sought directions to ensure regular family visits, access to television, medical records, and the ability for lawyers to meet with Khan without unnecessary restrictions.
