Imran Khan returned to Adiala Jail after medical evaluation

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has been returned to Adiala Jail following a brief medical evaluation in Islamabad. The transfer occurred after a Supreme Court order mandated that Khan receive medical attention due to health concerns, including reports of vision loss and unstable blood pressure.

While the court had recommended a visit to Shifa International Hospital, the medical examination was instead conducted at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). Information Minister Attaullah Tarar stated this change was necessary due to security concerns involving PTI supporters. A medical team, including an ophthalmologist and cardiologist, examined Khan and declared him medically fit.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party has criticized the move, labeling it an “open violation” of the Supreme Court's directive, which suggested Khan remain under medical supervision until mid-September. Khan's family and legal team continue to express concern over his deteriorating health and alleged mistreatment during his incarceration.
