Imran Khan undergoes medical examination at Adiala Jail
A specialized medical team has conducted examinations on former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. The team, which included doctors from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) and Shifa International, performed assessments including blood pressure readings, cholesterol levels, and eye tests.
Khan’s health has become a central issue for his supporters and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party. Concerns have been raised regarding his vision, specifically reports of Central Retinal Vein Occlusion (CRVO) affecting his right eye, as well as heart palpitations, anxiety, and fluctuating high blood pressure. While the PTI and Khan’s legal team have alleged medical neglect, prison authorities have denied these claims, stating that all necessary medical protocols are being followed.
The resulting medical report is expected to determine whether Khan requires a transfer to Shifa International Hospital for further treatment. Meanwhile, the PTI has scheduled a protest for September 27 to demand his release.
