Imran Khan ordered to hospital for medical evaluation by Supreme Court FAST-MOVING

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered the transfer of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to Shifa International Hospital for a comprehensive medical evaluation. The ruling follows a medical report submitted by jail authorities detailing Khan’s fluctuating health conditions, including high blood pressure, palpitations, headaches, and severe anxiety.

Medical assessments conducted by a board of doctors noted a pulse rate of approximately 50 to 54 beats per minute and blood pressure readings ranging from 140/80 to 140/100 mmHg. While an electrocardiogram was reported as normal, an echocardiogram showed slight abnormalities in blood flow. Doctors have recommended measures to manage his stress, such as increased access to reading materials and more frequent meetings with his family and spouse.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has demanded that Khan be treated under the supervision of his personal doctors and has called for restored access to his family and legal counsel. The Supreme Court has directed the formation of a medical board to conduct a detailed assessment and has ordered authorities to submit his complete medical records, while cautioning against the use of his health status for political purposes.
