IMSS‑Bienestar to build new 31‑bed hospital in Atlixtac, Guerrero

The IMSS‑Bienestar agency announced the construction of a new hospital in the municipality of Atlixtac, Guerrero. Director general Alejandro Svarch Pérez said the IMSS‑Bienestar already owns the land and the medical‑architectural project is completed, allowing construction to begin later this year in coordination with the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport. The facility will have 31 licensed beds, nine consultorios and dedicated areas for emergencies, surgery, laboratory, imaging and a range of specialties including gynecology, pediatrics, internal medicine, dentistry and traditional medicine. The project aims to reduce long‑standing gaps in access to specialized health services for the mountainous communities of Guerrero, bringing care to thousands of residents who have previously faced difficulties obtaining timely hospital treatment.
