IMSS-Bienestar restores hemodialysis services in State of Mexico
IMSS-Bienestar has implemented measures to resolve a hemodialysis supply crisis in the State of Mexico. Following protests and road blockades by patients and relatives at the “Dr. Gustavo Baz Prada”, “Dr. Pedro López”, and “90 Camas de Chimalhuacán” hospitals, medical services have begun to regularize.
The crisis stemmed from a suspension of services and a previous attempt to transfer patients to Toluca. Authorities have since revoked that measure, committing to provide care within the local municipalities. To prevent future shortages, IMSS-Bienestar has committed to subcontracting services to private clinics in the area if supplies become scarce at their own medical units.
