IMSS cancels contracts with Grupo Salinas-linked companies

The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) has permanently canceled commercial contracts with two companies linked to Grupo Salinas, owned by Ricardo Salinas Pliego. The decision follows findings of irregularities regarding the unauthorized handling of confidential institutional data.

The affected companies, identified as Soluciones para Negocios Éticos, Competitivos y Sustentables (NECSUS) and Creaciones Tecnológicas y Digitales Jim, were found to have transferred institutional databases to a third party, UPAX GS, for address verifications without explicit consent from the institute. As a result, the companies have been removed from the IMSS Provider Registry for Integrity (REPIIMSS).

The Secretary of Anti-Corruption and Good Government coordinated the technical review, which began in July to safeguard digital files. An internal investigation has also been opened to determine if any public officials were responsible for omissions or misconduct during the administration of these contracts.
