IMSS celebrates 75 years with major infrastructure investment in Mexico

The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) is celebrating its 75th anniversary in Baja California and San Luis Río Colorado, Sonora, marking a period of significant infrastructure expansion. An investment of nearly 7 billion pesos is being utilized to strengthen regional healthcare capacity.

Key projects include the construction of the Regional General Hospital No. 23 in Ensenada with 216 beds and a Zone General Hospital in San Luis Río Colorado with 120 beds. Additionally, the expansion of the San Quintín Rural Hospital will contribute to a total of 416 new census beds expected to be available by March 2027.

Other developments include the construction of the new Family Medicine Unit No. 2 in the Mexicali Valley, the expansion of Family Medicine Unit No. 13 in San Quintín, and the building of two Child Education and Care Centers (CECI) in San Quintín and the Mexicali Valley. The regional delegation also received national recognition for workplace accident prevention and excellence in nursing and medical administration.
