IMSS chief Zoé Robledo tours Chihuahua hospitals, unveils new equipment

IMSS director Zoé Robledo conducted a multi‑site tour of health facilities in Chihuahua state, including Hospital General Regional No. 1 “Morelos”, Hospital General de Zona No. 35 in Ciudad Juárez, the local breast clinic and two early‑childhood centers (CECI Gladiolas and San Isidro). He inspected a new hemodynamics suite – the second in the state and part of the “Código Infarto” program – and a 256‑slice CT scanner equipped with artificial‑intelligence imaging. The breast clinic’s services were highlighted as benefiting more than 45,000 women, while the CECI centers will each accommodate 250 children.

State health secretary Gilberto Baeza Mendoza noted that the IMSS owes roughly 300 million pesos to the state health department for services rendered since 2021 and expressed surprise at the unannounced visit. Separate reports alleged that hospital staff performed a temporary clean‑up and accelerated patient discharges to improve the facility’s appearance for the visit. Local deputy Jael Argüelles praised the infrastructure upgrades, citing a recent successful pediatric heart surgery as evidence of the benefits.
