IMTS 2026 to showcase industrial AI and automation in Chicago
The International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) 2026 is scheduled to take place from September 14–19 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Produced by the Association for Manufacturing Technology, the event is expected to host over 86,000 registrants and 1,800 exhibitors across 1.2 million square feet of space.
Key technological focuses for the event include industrial AI, automation, additive manufacturing, digital twins, and connected production systems. A dedicated IMTS Industrial AI Conference will feature speakers such as Jay Lee from the University of Maryland to discuss optimizing operations and overcoming data challenges through AI adoption.
In conjunction with the broader industry focus, Chicago Innovation Days 2026 will highlight advancements in manufacturing technology. Notable participants include Bucci Industries, which plans to demonstrate its IEMCA bar feeder alongside tools from ALGRA S. P. A. on an NZ TRE Horizontal Turning machine to showcase improvements in precision and efficiency.
