Indonesia hosts GIIAS Semarang and IMX 2026 automotive expos
Major automotive events are taking place in Indonesia, including the GIIAS Semarang 2026 and the Indonesia Modification & Lifestyle Expo (IMX) 2026.
GIIAS Semarang 2026, held at the Muladi Dome UNDIP from September 30 to October 4, features 19 vehicle brands. The Central Java provincial government is supporting the event by offering a 10% reduction in Motor Vehicle Transfer Tax (BBNKB) for new vehicle purchases made at the exhibition. Participating manufacturers include Honda, showcasing its electrification evolution, Suzuki, featuring hybrid models and the e VITARA, BAIC, with its first Indonesian electric vehicle the T1, and BYD, which introduced the M6 DM to the region.
IMX 2026, scheduled for October 9–11 at ICE BSD City, Tangerang, focuses on the modification and lifestyle sector under the theme ‘Next Gen Culture’. The expo will host international automotive legends, including Japanese drifters Keiichi Tsuchiya, Nobuteru Taniguchi, and Max Orido, alongside renowned designers. The event includes various giveaways, such as limited edition diecast models and a modified Toyota Kijang.
