Ina confirms diesel supply stability despite high prices
Fuel supplies, specifically diesel, remain stable despite public concerns regarding potential shortages. Goran Pleše, the operational director of refining and marketing at Ina, stated that Croatia is in a favorable position due to its connection to European and global markets. Ina has secured the necessary quantities of crude oil for upcoming processing needs.
However, geopolitical instability, including tensions involving Iran, continues to pose risks to supply chains. While the Rijeka refinery can meet most domestic demand, the risk of supply chain disruptions remains a factor.
Regarding costs, diesel prices have approached the two-euro per liter mark. This is attributed to refinery issues, including supply shortages and high refinery margins. In mid-August, diesel refinery margins exceeded $100 per barrel, five times the normal value. Analysts from Goldman Sachs noted that since the end of February, Brent crude oil prices have risen by 26.4%, while diesel prices have increased by 71.5%.
