Inaê Soto40 Transbrasa prepares for 2026 Brazilian Ocean Championship
The Inaê Soto40 Transbrasa sailing team is undergoing extensive repairs and preparations to return to competition in October. The team is targeting the 2026 Brazilian Ocean Championship, which includes the 76th Santos-Rio Regatta starting October 22 and the Rio Circuit held between October 30 and November 2.
Commanded by Bayard Umbuzeiro Neto, the vessel is currently undergoing maintenance on its hull, appendages, mast, sails, and various systems to ensure it remains competitive under the ORC performance measurement system. The Soto40, designed by Javier Soto Acebal, measures 12.30 meters in length with a displacement of approximately 4.3 tons.
The team has not competed since the 53rd Ilhabela International Sailing Week held earlier this year. Prior to their hiatus, the crew achieved significant results, including a runner-up finish in the second stage of the Mitsubishi Cup and taking the overall lead in the ORC Performance class after the first two stages.
