Incheon cultural organizations launch resident-led art initiatives

Cultural organizations in Incheon are launching community-focused initiatives to promote local arts and resident engagement.

The Ongjin Cultural Center will host the ‘Bukdo-myeon Sea Road Time Travel - Living Culture Exhibition’ from October 7 to 8 at Sinsimodo Treasure Island. Organized by a resident planning group, the exhibition features five themes, including fishing tools, sea photography, and local landscapes. The event will include resident-led docent programs and a musical performance by cellist Choi Jeong-ah.

Separately, the Incheon Seohae-gu Cultural Foundation is introducing the ‘Practice Project’ from October to November. This initiative features 15 art education programs designed by local instructors. The programs include workshops addressing emotional themes such as infertility, grief, and menopause, alongside permanent programs focused on community archives and healing through art.
